CULTURE AT THE MARGINS. FREEDOM AT THE CORE.

Berlin photographer Olaf Kostbahn presents a selection of his concert photographs. With his images, he captures the power of fleeting concert moments. His photographs preserve emotions and show how courageous musical self-expression, opinion and attitude can be.

Strong contrasts, intense light, deep shadows and expressive colour saturation shape his visual language. They reflect the raw expression of a culture moving between freedom and authoritarian structures — told from a marginal perspective.

EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO FREELY EXPRESS THEIR OPINION IN SPEECH, WRITING AND IMAGES

This idea from Article 5 of the German Basic Law is more than a right — it is the foundation of artistic freedom and lived punk culture. Where opinions become visible, friction, dialogue and social debate emerge.

At the opening, the punk rock band Artikel 5, portrayed by the photographer, will appear as guests with a live performance. Their powerful songs combine musical energy with social relevance — uncompromising, honest and with a clear stance.

Because punk is more than music. Punk is an attitude — loud, direct and unfiltered. It questions, contradicts and makes visible what often remains outside the mainstream.

An exhibition and a concert about expression, freedom and the question:

How does attitude sound? What does freedom look like?
