Organizer:: Halbe Welt

Dining in Brandenburg is always associated with travel and vice versa: Brandenburg farmers deliver their produce to the capital – formerly by barge or train, today by van. Visitors take home culinary produce from the land while hiking, biking, or paddling here. What would travel be without food, i.e. without travel provisions? And what better place to enjoy, share and digest provisions than on the train?

All of this can be experienced in the Travel & Dining project, which consists of two days of action, three train stations, and a cookbook designed by 15 artists from the region. The cookbook pages will be exhibited – and for the vernissage on August 27th we will drive from Cottbus via Lübbenau to Halbe to experience art and cuisine. On October 8th we return from Halbe via Lübbenau to the edible village of Raddusch, where we cook together, and finally to Cottbus.

Vernissage: August 27, 2022

• 10.30 a.m., Grossenhainer train station in Cottbus: Opening of the exhibition and performances “Waiting for the train”, distribution of suitable packed lunches by Primawetter

• 12:00 p.m.: Departure by train to Lübbenau

• 12.18 arrival in Lübbenau: exhibition opening and creative offers, history of the railway and travel with the traditional costume association Rubiško

• 2:54 p.m.: Departure to Halbe

• 3:19 p.m. arrival in Halbe: reception with brass band, opening of the exhibition. Halali art project (overpainting of traditional hunting scenes) and railway posters from various eras.

Closing date: October 8, 2022

• 9.30 a.m.: Start in Halbe with a small breakfast and stop at the exhibition

• 10:37 a.m.: Continue to Lübbenau – short stop at the exhibition

• 12 p.m.: Continue to Raddusch – cooking classes, visit to the edible village

• 6 p.m.: Conclusion in Cottbus – finale at Grossenhainer train station
